Chuck Davis and the African American Dance Ensemble Residency

November 11-15, 2003 & March 23-27, 2004

The YMICC will embark on its third year of a statewide initiative with the African American Dance Ensemble (AADE), founded and directed by Dr. Charles "Chuck" Davis. The residency consists of a 2-week series of workshops, lecture demonstrations, and a public performance at UNC-Asheville as part of the YMICC's outreach and Arts-In-Education series. Coordinated by YMI staff and implemented by AADE, the project will culminate this year involving a slew of talented community and ensemble members, a community choir, and participation from area students in a spring performance. Performances will be Friday, March 26 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 27 at 3 p.m. in Lipinsky Auditorium on the UNCA campus.
